Bad blogger confessions

Confession... I have been a BAD blogger.
I haven't blogged all week because I literally did not have time.
We have been busy doing things for the house every night after work.
Last night we got blinds, a lawn mower, weed eater, and new locks for the doors.
Welcome to owning a home.
Tonight we bought this little gem...
Our house was supposed to come with the fridge that was in it.
But at the last minute the seller changed their mind.
It is a long story I wont bore you with. But it ended with us having to buy one.

Confession....I could NOT be more excited for this weekend.
It is my bridal shower in my hometown.
All of my best girlfriends will be here.
It is going to be such a special weekend. One of many to come!
You can definitely expect a post all about it:)

Confession...I might be skipping bunco tomorrow so I can spend time with him
I haven't gotten to see him as much lately so he is mine tomorrow night.
He pretty much trumps everything else:)
I can't wait for future sleep overs at Aunt Sissy's new house!
Tomorrow will also be the only night all week I will be able to RELAX at home.
I need that before this weekend.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

My first house project

My first new house project was small but mighty.
A new wreath for our front door.
Gotta make our presence known in the new hood!
Who would have ever thought creating a homemade wreath would be considered exciting?
Not me.
But boy is it.
Here is what I started out with....
All found at Hobby Lobby.
Our house #, monogram, paint, and fake flowers. Easy as pie.
I painted all my wooden numbers and letter my favorite color.
Perfect color for spring. Or anytime if you are me.
My best crafting is executed when paired with wine.
Here is my finished product.
I just hot glued everything on.
I bought two stems of the fake flowers and cut it apart and glued away.
The ribbon came from a ribbon my mom just had laying around the house.
I love  how it turned out and it was so easy.
I am ready to do a lot more crafting:)

I am hoping to find some new craft ideas.
I am hooked.

Meet the parents!!!

Don't worry, I met Davids parents before this weekend!!
BUT my parents and David's parents met this weekend.
Since we are from different states, our parents had not been able to meet.
This weekend my family went to Baton Rouge with David and I for our wedding shower.
My parents, sister, brother in law and nephew all came.
It was great! So much fun to be with all  of our family at one time!

Our shower was held at David's aunt and uncles house on the river.
They have a beautiful backyard!
We had a fish fry and his uncles cooked amazing food for everyone.
There was food, cake, games, presents, and family.

Awesome backyard!

We had such a good time!
One of my flower girls and of course my baby Cade!
We will see if he can walk down the aisle as my ring bearer:)

Opening presents with my lovely groom!!
We got lots of awesome gifts! We are very very lucky.

Uncle David and Cade.
Melt my heart.
David and I at the shower.

Next weekend I have shower #2!
All of this makes it seem so real and so close!
I love it!!

March Birchbox

So this month I got a subscription to Birchbox!
I got my first box and I was like a kid on Christmas.
I love getting packages and surprises so this is right up my alley.
And to top it all off I love everything I got except one things that's totally out of my comfort zone.
Here is what I got in my March Birchbox.

I snapped a picture of my box!

Oh and ps if you live under a rock...
Birchbox costs $10 a month and you can cancel at anytime.
They send you like 5-6 beauty products in this adorable box complete with pink tissue paper.
Just a fun and cheap way to try new things!!

Here is what I got...for real this time.
Yes this is really called stripper on the go go.
I already used one of my samples. I got two.
It worked just fine but I don't see myself buying them.
I don't often find myself in an emergency nail polish situation on the go go.
Sooo ill stick with my cheap bottle as opposed to these 12 dollar pads.
THIS is what I will never use. Maybe try but I don't see it going well.
It is sticker eye liner and you have to like cut it to the shape and size you want it.
I know certain people that this could work for....not me.
 Fashion tape!
I actually have some of this already, not sure if it is the same brand.
I will use it and we will if  it is better than the one I already own.
This is an oil treatment for your hair. Orofluido Beauty Elixir to be exact.
Before I read what it actually was I thought it was perfume.
It smells like a DREAM and I cant wait to try it!
Speaking of smelling like a dream...
This perfume is Annick Goutal - Eau d' Hadrien.
Don't ask me to pronounce that...BUT it smells awesome. I would buy this for sure.
David told me it smells like pineapple and I quickly scolded him telling him it smelled nothing like it.
Well then I watched someone elses BB video and that girl said "Mmm smells like pineapple"
I still do not get that scent AT ALL...but obviously to some it does.
Lastly I got this Juice Beauty face wash.
I have not tried it yet just because I never stray from my face wash.
I will try it sometime though. Maybe after the wedding because I really don't want to mess up my skin right now.

David in the HOT seat!

I thought it would be fun for you guys to get to know David,
so I am linking up with Ashlee and putting him in the hot seat!
He was a very good  sport in answering the questions for me:)
Ya...he is a hottie

Here are the questions.

1)What is the one thing your dream home must have?
an awesome kitchen and my beautiful wife (to-be) to cook with me in it.

2) What is your favorite present I've ever given you?
I think that would be the pair of boots you got me for our first Christmas together.

3) What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?
Fishing...or working outside. Doing anything in the sun really.

4) If you could have dinner with one person living or not(but not me), who would it be?
I would have dinner with my grandpas on my dads side. He died when I was a baby. I'd enjoy meeting him.

5) Who do you think I would choose?
Your nephew Cade. Bc he is pretty much your favorite person ever.

6) How many kids do you want?
If the first one isn't terribly difficult....probably 4.

7) If you have a boy, do you want to name him after you?
I sure do.

8) What's your favorite vacation we've ever been on?
when we went to Orange beach with my family last year. It was nice to relive the night I met you.

9) Describe yourself in one word
Happy.

That last answer makes me smile!
I think it is fun to read his answers:)

Also if anyone would like to do a guest post on becoming a newlywed,
Email me, or comment and let me know.
I thought it would be fun to feature some in the months leading up to me being a NEWLYWED!

St Patrick's Day cookout!

We had a low key St Patrick's Day
And I do mean low key.
I have never gone big for St Patty's Day.
David worked most of the day
so we just cooked out and enjoyed the amazing weather!

We did get the party started right though...
Makes the best margarita!
Blue Moon in mason jars.
Hanging out on the patio!
It was an ideal Saturday night.

Appitizers!

Burgers, beans, and summer squash casserole for dinner!

It was nice to just stay home and hang out.
The next 3 weekends are nonstop chaos, so this was our last chance to relax.
And that is just what we did.

OH..We also made beeritas....
Kind of like the ones we had in THIS post, but obviously, homemade!
If you like beer, and you like margaritas. Make this!
And if you drink out of mason jars it will taste extra delicious.

PS Two months from today I will be a MARRIED woman.
It just freaks me out that tomorrow I can say I am getting married in LESS than two months.
Not because of the actual getting married.
But because I have so much crap to do before May 19.

OH WELL....2 months and one day til PUNTA CANA!!

Pictures via Instagram!

We are just laying around having a very LAZY Sunday!
This weekend has been busy.

Friday night we went out to dinner for my brother in laws birthday!
The place we went had rides outside.
Cade took a little ride on the train.

We went through lots of quarters:)

I finally worked on my pinterst craft!
Here is a little preview.

My first Birchbox came Saturday.
I was so excited!

Texas grapefruit. The best addition to my breakfast.

The weather has been picture perfect all week,
so we have been spending a lot of time outside.
Swinging on the porch.
And mowing the lawn.
You can never start too young.

Last night we had a St Patty's Day cookout on the patio.
Pictures to come!

Wedding fashion.

When it comes the a wedding, obviously the most important thing is THE dress.
Apart from the wedding dress, there are all of the other "festivities" that require new outfits......right?
Right!
Such as, the rehearsal dinner.
I knew when I saw this dress that I needed it for my rehearsal dinner.
 It has pockets! My weakness.

For my bachelorette party I decided I wanted hot pink.
I am SO not a hot pink girl. At all.
I just woke up one day wanting to wear it for my girls night out.
So the hunt began and of course there was not one acceptable hot pink dress to be found.
Until last night.
This hot pink Express dress. Thank you Express.
I ordered it this morning and I can wait to get it!

Next on my to do list is to find a couple of things for the honeymoon.
Swim suits and sundresses.
One swim suit I have had my eye on for months is this one.
I just think it is adorable!
And then there is this one. It just seems so honeymoon appropriate.
I just love the sequins!

Now, dresses for the honeymoon.
I just want casual, cute, comforable dresses.
As much as I think i'm going to be getting all dolled up everynight...
Probably won't happen after a long day of sun and all inclusive drinks.
Here are the type of things I am looking at!
White girly lace!
I love this one. So bright and summery.
I have never  owned a maxi dress, but I am itching to.

So what do I pack for the honeymoon?
Any advice is much appreciated:)

A girl can dream

I have been a Pinterest lover since day one.
Now that I am moving in May, I have a whole new love for it.
And that is the Home Decor page. Im obsessed.
Here are some things I am LOVING on Pinterest:)
This just makes me happy.
I registered for the containers just like this!
This table. I am recreating one similar to it soon.
Love the monogram.
The horizontal stripes.
I am hoping with the help of my mother I can make this happen.
I am all about the picture wall.
A garden. I WILL have a garden.
Next summer this is my project.
This would be a cute entry table!

Pinterest can really get you in trouble.
The possibilities are seriously endless.
I will definitely share if and when I am actually able to do these things!
