A Weekend at Home

 

 

This weekend is the first weekend David and I have been at home in a month.

We had 3 out of town wedding in a row.

It was fun, and exhausting.

And amazing to be home and have zero plans.

 

Friday night we stayed home and I cooked dinner!

Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuits, and gravy.

It was so bad, yet so good.

 

Saturday David worked, and I spent some much needed time with Cade and my mom.

We ran some errands to Home Depot, and Target.

He had to pick out a CARS toy. Of course.

He loved driving the race car around Home Depot.

He is just the cutest.

 

That night David and I went out with my parents.

We went to Chuys and I got no pictures.

After dinner David and I picked up some wine and made our first fire in our house!

 

It is safe to say this will be happening all winter.

 

Today we just relaxed at home and it was wonderful.

This afternoon we got a couples massage and got sushi.

Best date ever.

My handsome date.

Annddd dinner.

Why is sushi so good?

We tried a new place tonight and it was awesome.

Who is loving that it is already Friday?

I feel like this week was a quick one. Why is that?

This weekend I have no big plans.

I love busy weekend with tons a plans,

but I also love nothing weekends.

I think tonight I am going to whip up the Pioneer Woman's

veggie and cheese bagel.

Luckily I have a husband that will happily eat anything I make.

This isn't exactly a "manly" meal.

I might have to add some turkey to his.

Crazy Friday night, yes? We may even open some wine.

Tomorrow David has to work,

therefore I will be having a mommy/daughter day.

I am hoping to get 2 pinterst projects completed!

I need help and I need it now.

I have relapsed and have fallen back into my pinterest addiction.

I kind of fell off the bandwagon when I was BUSY planning my wedding.

But now I am a married woman with many free nights,

only to be found perusing pinterst day dreaming about decorating my house.

I talked in my last post about it being a work in progress, and that's ok with me.

My latest things to obsess over are as follows.

Number one....by far.

Our built in shelves in the living room.

They have SO much potential and I just want to create a fabulously eclectic display

like all of the picture perfect ones on pinterest.

I mean. It is just so perfectly haphazardly thrown together.

Next..our mantle.

I keep throwing up random things and taking them down.

Wash.Rinse.Repeat.

Enter pinterest.

So simple and pretty.

Maybe I just need to print some pictures and head to Home Goods.

And...The dining room table.

Now, this is no fancy schmancy dining room.

I just want something besides our huge box of cheez its from Sams on the table.

I love that crate with assorted dishes and flowers.

How can I make this happen?

Just hanging out

Yesterday while David was at work, my mom came over to help decorate our house.

It seems like a never ending process. But a fun one.

Yesterday was spent hanging lots of decor.

My picture wall is coming along nicely.

(even though when I look at this picture everything looks crooked.)

I swear in real life these things look straight. I'll  have to work on it.

I finally got all my jewelry from my parents house and hung it up in a little corner of our bedroom.

I had this in my bathroom before, but there is not enough wall space here.

There is plenty of wall space in our bedroom and I like  how it looks.

The bathroom door is directly right of this, and a window directly to the left.

I think it was a cute way to make up this little corner.

I also added this little frame above our dresser in the bedroom.

I am ready  to get our wedding pictures back so we can put up pictures of things other than ourselves.

I promise we are not in love with ourselves.

Lastly, I added this picture in the kitchen.

I love the rooster:)

Not to mention every word on there speaks the truth...

We also hung some curtains in the dining room,

and a few things in the guest bedrooms. Not in love with them though.

It is a work in progress and in my moms words "that's part of the fun."

Part of me agrees and part of me wants it all done asap.

Before David and I got married I lived at home for a year and half,

so it is fun to spend my Saturdays that David works with my mom.

We just did things around my house, went grocery shopping, and shopped for my sisters birthday,

but we had a great Saturday just hanging out. It was fun!

You know it's a good weekend when...

It starts out with TWO fabulous dates with your main man.

First he met me for lunch on my lunch break, which was a nice treat!

We went to a Mexican restaurant and I ordered these for lunch.

Yes, a nice plate of sopapillas for lunch. Don't mind if I do.

That night we were going to a dinner and flight over Dallas, but the flight was rained out.

Dinner was still great, though.

All ready for date night.

Sunset dinner! David was playing photographer for once!

On our way home.

Saturday we just layed low at the house.

We hung out on the patio with our beers, and went to bed early.

Today we did some work at the house!

Me and Dave on our way to Home Depot.

Our 500th trip in the past month.

Some spray paint projects!

I love how it turned out.

It was black before.

Tonight we hung out with my family and grilled out.

This little baboo had fun playing in the sprinkler.

So much fun:)

He is an outside baby.

David grilled chicken and steaks for everyone.

And he had the cutest little helper:)

We had a great weekend.

Only one more until the wedding weekend!

AND my best friend will be here in TEN days for my wedding.

Is this happening?

My (super busy) life lately!

I kind of fell off the face of the earth for a minute.

I have been SO busy.

We are t-minus 2 weeks away from the ultimate wedding weekend!

Whoo hoo!

Here is what I have been up to!

Working on the house...

Am I the only one that feels like I saw that every week?

You would think we would be done but ehhhh not even close.

I went to do stuff this weekend while David was at his "bachelor party" aka gone fishin:)

I found these when I got there. He is just a sweetheart sometimes...

Just made my day!

I went out to dinner with my family this weekend and the restaurant has an old tractor.

Cade had the time of his life on that thing.

He threw a slight temper tantrum when it was time to go...

I  also had my bridals this weekend! I LOVED the place I took them.

Can't wait to see the pictures.

One tiny problem was that 11 p.m the night before...

We realized we didn't order a bouquet for the shoot.

SOO...My awesome mom got up the next morning, went to Kroger to get lots of flowers, and made this masterpiece.

It turned out great.

I got to try out my new mixer for the first time on Monday!

It was my Mom's birthday so I baked her birthday cake!

We went out for Italian for Mom's birthday.

Someone LOVED his pasta!

I know, my nephew is the cutest:-)

What weekend?

Our weekend consisted of  pretty much one thing....

Working at the new house.

I had fun doing it, but it was a lot of work.

I woke up around 6 on Saturday and Sunday.

That does not fly with me...in the least. It had to be done, though.

YES the weekend is finally upon us:)

I told you all about my RIDICULOUS Monday.

What a way to start off my week.

But the rest of my week went off without a hitch.

Weeks are going by faster every week!

5 weeks until our wedding. AH!!

ANYWAY this weekend we have a lot of things to do.

First and most importantly after getting off work I will head straight home for some wine.

This is true, correct?

Saturday our furniture is getting delivered to the new house.

I am so excited for this.

I will also be working on the house all day Saturday with my mama!

Painting, shelf papering, hopefully some decorating!!

I will try and get some before pictures while I am there.

Also, just found out today that David's parents will be coming to see us.

This is so exciting because they haven't come here yet.

They want to see our new house, where we are getting married ect.
We are going to take them to the place we picked for our rehearsal dinner too.
Since they are paying for it I thought we could let them approve first.
I know they will otherwise bridezilla might come out.
Totally kidding but not really.
