A Weekend at Home

 

 

This weekend is the first weekend David and I have been at home in a month.

We had 3 out of town wedding in a row.

It was fun, and exhausting.

And amazing to be home and have zero plans.

 

Friday night we stayed home and I cooked dinner!

Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuits, and gravy.

It was so bad, yet so good.

 

Saturday David worked, and I spent some much needed time with Cade and my mom.

We ran some errands to Home Depot, and Target.

He had to pick out a CARS toy. Of course.

He loved driving the race car around Home Depot.

He is just the cutest.

 

That night David and I went out with my parents.

We went to Chuys and I got no pictures.

After dinner David and I picked up some wine and made our first fire in our house!

 

It is safe to say this will be happening all winter.

 

Today we just relaxed at home and it was wonderful.

This afternoon we got a couples massage and got sushi.

Best date ever.

Why is sushi so good?

We tried a new place tonight and it was awesome.

Life lately via pictures

 

Hello!

Not a lot has been going on around here lately!

This weekend David and I had a perfectly LAZY weekend.

Much needed, in my opinion.

Since I have taken quite the blog break, a picture update is in order.

 

New boots my love got me for my birthday which was last Friday.

I am now 25. Eeeek.

May purchase boots here.

 My wonderful husband sent flowers,a teddy bear and balloon to me at work on my birthday.

He is the best.

 

 We are....special.

 

 I got a breakfast cookbook for my birthday with tons of good recipes.

I love making new and different things.

We made these potato rosemary pancakes with bacon and honey.

So good!

The book is called The Perfect Start to Your Day.

The aquarium and a BIG SURPRISE!

This weekend my mom and sister asked me to go with them to take Cade to the aquarium on Saturday morning bright and early, and that is just what we did!

We had a really good time and Cade loved seeing the fish!

They dropped me off at home around noon and I had a HUGE surprise waiting for me.

A surprise party!

My birthday is this Friday and David planned a big bash with all of my best friends.

I literally walked in my front door and had all my friends jump out and yell surprise.

It was the best.

He rented a huge slip and slide and margarita machine.

It was a blast and I was seriously shocked!

I don't know how he planned it all without me knowing.

Such a good husband:)

It really was the best birthday ever.

I don't know how David pulled it off, but he did.

I also have to mention that I have the best girlfriends ever:)

Most of them came from out of town and it meant so much to me.

We have all been best friends for at least ten years,

some for twenty years (CRAZY)

and it isn't very often we are all in the same place.

I love you girls!

Who is loving that it is already Friday?

I feel like this week was a quick one. Why is that?

This weekend I have no big plans.

I love busy weekend with tons a plans,

but I also love nothing weekends.

I think tonight I am going to whip up the Pioneer Woman's

veggie and cheese bagel.

Luckily I have a husband that will happily eat anything I make.

This isn't exactly a "manly" meal.

I might have to add some turkey to his.

Crazy Friday night, yes? We may even open some wine.

Tomorrow David has to work,

therefore I will be having a mommy/daughter day.

I am hoping to get 2 pinterst projects completed!

Well, we had a great weekend!

Two of my very best friends were in town from Austin.

So, on Friday we met up with them and another one of my very best friends.

Such a good time. And, of course, I took no pictures.

David and I had a glass bottle of wine with our dinner Friday,

which was a great pinterest find.

Recipe to come tomorrow.

 My new favorite wine.

Discovered thanks to a random purchase with the husband.

We are planning on making a trip to Austin soon!

Saturday I kept Cade and he stayed the night with Aunt sissy and Uncle Dave.

We had such a good time with him.

We went swimming, went for a walk in the stroller, played in the hose, and watched Cars.

Just a little bedtime snack. I think swimming made him hungry.

Tonight I am making chicken noodle soup.

For some reason making soup is my Sunday tradition.

I made enough for about 3 armys.

I also made the best banana bread recipe I have ever tried.

It is soo good.

It is such an easy recipe.

And it makes David love me.

Maybe I should post two recipes tomorrow?

Weekend with the nephew

Well we had a little change of plans this weekend,

and did not go on our road trip.

Something came up in my family, 

so I stayed in town to help take care of my nephew.

We made the best of our weekend home and

I always love spending time with the baboo.

Get ready for Cade overload.

Friday afternoon was spent playing outside.

A boy and his car.

Then we discovered the water hose.

Insert nap time.

He did NOT want to wake up!

That night we headed to dinner with Nana and Papa.

After dinner with Uncle Dave!

Saturday we just played and ran some errands!

Cade and Aunt Sissy.

He loved the fishy!

Then we chilled out and watched his favorite movie...CARS!

So glad I got to spend time with him and my family all weekend!

Hopefully we will do a make up trip to LA very soon.
