A Weekend at Home

This weekend is the first weekend David and I have been at home in a month.
We had 3 out of town wedding in a row.
It was fun, and exhausting.
And amazing to be home and have zero plans.

Friday night we stayed home and I cooked dinner!
Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuits, and gravy.
It was so bad, yet so good.

Saturday David worked, and I spent some much needed time with Cade and my mom.
We ran some errands to Home Depot, and Target.
He had to pick out a CARS toy. Of course.

He loved driving the race car around Home Depot.
He is just the cutest.

That night David and I went out with my parents.
We went to Chuys and I got no pictures.
After dinner David and I picked up some wine and made our first fire in our house!

It is safe to say this will be happening all winter.

Today we just relaxed at home and it was wonderful.
This afternoon we got a couples massage and got sushi.
Best date ever.
My handsome date.
Annddd dinner.
Why is sushi so good?
We tried a new place tonight and it was awesome.

I hope you all had a great weekend.
I am done being the worst blogger ever:)

The time a blew my diet!

Well my weekend was a quick one.
David and I both worked all day Saturday.
So Saturday night, David took me out for a night on the town.
It was a good surprise.
Now, since the actual honeymoon is officially over,
I figured it was time to start eating like a civilized person again.
I would hate to gain the newlywed fifteen.
That is not a good look.

So this week we made a conscious effort to get back to a healthy diet.
Not to be confused with going on a diet.
We had lots of delicous healthy dinners....
And that all went out the window Saturday night:)
Being married means mastering the self timer.

We went to one of our favorite places, Pappadeaux!
Their food is to die for, and I have the pictures to prove it.
If you hate food pictures, run for you life.

It all started out very innocently with this amazing salad.
That just happened to be covered in bacon and bleu cheese dressing.

David went for the peppered tuna.

For dinner I had redfish covered in lobster with parmasean risotto.
It was just as good as it looks and sounds.

I also stole some of David's SIDE of onion rings.
Biggest side ever.

And here is the real kicker...
You will all be really jealous and want to hurt me.
I had had it before and I will have again.
Chocolate cake is my absolute favorite thing to eat in his world,
and this one is the best I have ever had,
And no, I did not share this. It was all mine.
I told David that if I went on that show,
"The Best Thing I Ever Ate", I would pick this.

We resumed back to normal tonight with a fabulous meal
of grilled chicken and broccoli. Whoo hoo.
I sincerely apologize for making an entire post on food.
Kind of....

You know it's a good weekend when...

It starts out with TWO fabulous dates with your main man.
First he met me for lunch on my lunch break, which was a nice treat!
We went to a Mexican restaurant and I ordered these for lunch.
Yes, a nice plate of sopapillas for lunch. Don't mind if I do.
My honey at lunch

That night we were going to a dinner and flight over Dallas, but the flight was rained out.
Dinner was still great, though.
All ready for date night.
Sunset dinner! David was playing photographer for once!
On our way home.

Saturday we just layed low at the house.
We hung out on the patio with our beers, and went to bed early.

Today we did some work at the house!
Me and Dave on our way to Home Depot.
Our 500th trip in the past month.
Some spray paint projects!
Our finished product.
I love how it turned out.
It was black before.

Tonight we hung out with my family and grilled out.
This little baboo had fun playing in the sprinkler.
So much fun:)
He is an outside baby.

David grilled chicken and steaks for everyone.
And he had the cutest little helper:)

We had a great weekend.
Only one more until the wedding weekend!
AND my best friend will be here in TEN days for my wedding.
Is this happening?

Love Shack BABY!

Yesterday afternoon, David and I headed over to a new gem in our town!
The Love Shack!
It is a new hot spot on our square.
We went yesterday afternoon and sat out on the patio.

The weather was seriously perfect.
We just hung out sipping  on Blue Moon.
And we ordered some seriously delicious grub.
I just had a classic cheeseburger, and the chile parmesan chips.
David got the cheeseburger, with bacon and a fried quail egg, and onion rings!
And for dessert? We split this...
A HOMEMADE chocolate chip ice cream sandwich.
Best thing ever!
This was the perfect place for a Sunday day date.
We will be going back soon, I'm sure!
Next time we will be trying one of their cocktail pitchers.
Sangria, margaritas, and mojitos. Take your pick.

Date night, new recipe, and s'mores!

Saturday night David and I decided to hang out at home,
since we were both out Friday.
I made dinner. A little twist on a classic comfort food.
Cornbread waffles and spicy chili.
It was super easy, and super YUMMY!!
My favorite part....The cornbread waffles! I loved them.
I had a left over one today with honey drizzled over it. So good!
Trying to wait patiently for my  waffles to cook.
This is the final product, and you can find the recipe HERE!

After dinner we made a fire outside, made smores, and listened to country music!
It was the perfect night for a fire.
Gotta love  a man making a fire!
I sat wrapped up in my  flannel blanket and watched the magic happen.
The goods.
I only had 2 smores.
And only about 10 roasted marshmallows.
They were that good.
You cant say no to that!
Or that!!

We had such a good night just talking by the fire.
And eating smores:)
I love him!

An instagram weekend

We had a pretty low key weekend.
Friday, this little guy was here until right before dinner time.

Friday night we just stayed home and cooked one of pioneer woman's sandwiches.
On Saturday, David worked and then we went out for dinner and ice cream!
We went to Mellow Mushroom.
This is new to our town so we were excited to try it.
When we got there, we had a 50 minute wait.
They had plenty of room at the bar, so it wasn't so bad.
I had a seasonal cider, and it was delicious!
Waiting on our yummy pizza to arrive.
Also, laughing at my obnoxious fiance for taking
one million pictures with the flash on.
He thinks its fun to be embarrassing:)
Our pizza arrives!
It was to die for. The crust made it!
You would think after that ginormous pizza we would be stuffed.
We still had room for ice cream.
Its just how we roll.
It was a date night success!
