Thank goodness it's Friday!

Today is an extra special Friday.

Why? You ask?

Because I only have to work a half day,

then it is off on a road trip to Baton Rouge.

And who doesn't want to spend 7 hours in a car with this guy?

I know I do.

In all honesty, I really love our road trips!

7 hours in the car really isn't all that bad when you are with your best friend.

Corny, I know, but hey it's true.

David's family has a big 4th of July party every year.

And I do mean big.

They cook out for everyone on a huge bbq pit built underground.

It is so cool, but SO hot outside.

I hope I don't melt and live to blog about it all.

Crawfish boil

Saturday we had a crawfish boil in Baton Rouge.

I had never been to one before I found my little cajun.

They are so much fun.

It helped that the weather could not have been better.

We just hung out in the back yard, ate lots of crawfish, Easter candy,

and had fun hiding eggs for the little ones. Over and over again.

Then the adults got involved and got a little competetive about who could hide eggs the best:)

I forgot my camera! I was very upset, so all my pictures are iphone pictures.

Oh well:(

They were entertained for hours! Carrying them around like pets.

Some of those things were huge. Looks like a lobster!

We had so much fun! The next time I see all of them, it will be my wedding weekend!

So crazy.

David is going back before for a deep sea fishing trip, but I am staying here.

A very busy weekend!

We had a very busy Easter weekend.

We went to Baton Rouge to spend it with David's family.

We flew out Friday morning. It was our first time to fly there together.

We had the pleasure of driving a U-haul back 500 miles:)

Friday we got there around 10 and he loaded the U-Haul with his dad.

I went shopping with the girls:)

After that we ran some errands.

We were on the way to the fish market when I spotted something.....

There used to be one around here that me and my mom would go to but it closed.

I had to have one. It was just as good as I remembered.

I know they sell them at like every gas station but its not the same.

These were straight off the conveyor belt.

You can get FRESH shrimp for less than half of what you can get it here.

We got 10 pounds and froze them.

Then we went to my  in-laws and dyed Easter eggs and went to dinner.

Today David and I drove a U-Haul with the rest of his stuff back to Texas.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be in the fact it only took an hour longer than normal.

BUT it was super loud and bumpy. We survived though.

David's family had their annual Easter crawfish boil yesterday and I will post about that tomorrow!

Meet the parents!!!

Don't worry, I met Davids parents before this weekend!!

BUT my parents and David's parents met this weekend.

Since we are from different states, our parents had not been able to meet.

This weekend my family went to Baton Rouge with David and I for our wedding shower.

My parents, sister, brother in law and nephew all came.

It was great! So much fun to be with all  of our family at one time!

Our shower was held at David's aunt and uncles house on the river.

They have a beautiful backyard!

We had a fish fry and his uncles cooked amazing food for everyone.

There was food, cake, games, presents, and family.

A very Merry Christmas!

We had a pretty great Christmas this year! It started out the weekend before Christmas when we headed to Baton Rouge to have Christmas with David's family.  We went to his familys Christmas party at his Maw Maws and got to see all of his extended family! Later that night we celebrated with just us at his Dads house.  We got a greaseless fryer which i can't wait to use!

The next morning we headed to New Orleans for Christmas with his mom! We just relexed, ate lots of good food, and opened lots of gifts!

We got lots of other goodies and we had a blast hanging out with his family. We got up and left his moms around noon so we could make it back home at a decent hour. It was a 9  hour drive home but it was well worth the drive!! Next up...Christmas with my family!
